On December 9, infielder Charlie Culberson was outrighted to the minors and removed from the 40-man roster and on January 10, 2017, infielder Micah Johnson was designated for assignment and then traded to the Atlanta Braves. On December 2, Louis Coleman was non-tendered. On November 9, relief pitcher Chin-hui Tsao was outrighted to the minors and removed from the 40 man roster.
